1.India is ranked 132nd in UNDP's Human Development Index.:

The HDI measures the average achievement of a country in three basic dimensions of human development – ​​a long and healthy life, education and a good standard of living.

 

India ranks 132 out of 191 countries and territories in the 2021 Human Development Index (HDI). In the 2020 report, India was ranked 131 out of 189 countries and territories. The country's performance is behind the decline from the previous level to this level due to the decline in life expectancy. Life expectancy fell from 69.7 years to 67.2 years during the survey period, the report said. Female life expectancy fell from 71 years in the 2020 report to 68.8 years in the 2021 report. India's latest HDI value is 0.633

 

2.Rajasthan State Launches 100 Days Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme:

Rajasthan government has launched an ambitious scheme on the lines of Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme MGNREGA to provide 100 days of employment to poor families in urban areas.

2.25 lakh families have already registered in this year's state budget for the Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Scheme proposed by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

 

The scheme, which will be launched on September 9, will cover environmental protection, maintenance of parks, water and heritage conservation, , removal of encroachments, illegal sign boards, , banners, hoardings etc. Sanitation, hygiene and other works are also taken up under this scheme. .

 

Scheme Details:

The state government has allocated Rs.800 crores for this scheme. The scheme will be launched by the in-charge ministers of the districts in their respective areas.

The ratio of material cost to wage cost is 25:75 under "general nature" for approval and execution of work, but the ratio is reversed for works of "special nature".

Payments will be made in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries within 15 days.

A provision has been made in the scheme to redress grievances and conduct social audit.

Eligibility

Age should be 18 to 60 years to be eligible for this scheme. 100 days of employment available to interested families. The scheme will be implemented in all urban local bodies from September 9.

 

3.World EV Day 2022: World EV Day will be celebrated on September 9, 2022. World EV Day is celebrated to emphasize the importance of e-mobility. Tata is a leading brand of electric vehicles in India

World EV Day helps create public awareness about sustainable transportation. Air pollution is mainly caused by transportation and EVs are one of the main alternatives to reduce this.

 

The first World EV Day was held in 2020 and is an initiative of sustainability media company Greet TV. Every year, World EV Day is celebrated on 9 September 2022.

 

Objective:

World Electric Vehicle Day aims to inform people about the benefits of switching to electric vehicles. Using electric vehicles can save energy as well as protect the environment.

 

India has sold over 3,00,000 units of electric vehicles. There was a 168 percent growth in performance and sales of EVs in India from 20 to 22.
