The Maharashtra government has decided to increase the pension of freedom fighters from 10000 to 20000 rupees per month. Freedom fighters associated with Indian freedom struggle Marathwada Mukti Sangram and Goa Liberation Movement will benefit from this decision.
It will benefit 6,229 surviving patriots from across Maharashtra who participated in India's Freedom Struggle 1947, Marathwada Liberation Struggle 1948 and Goa Liberation Movement 1961. In connection with the pension scheme started in 1965, this huge sum on the state exchequer was Rs. 74.75 crore additional annual burden.
It is intended to recognize the contributions of all the many participants in these historic and nationalist movements that ultimately led to the unification of the country.
The state cabinet approved a proposal to allow candidates from socially and educationally backward classes (Marathas) to avail quota of jobs under the EWS category of economically weaker sections, whose constitutional validity was upheld by the Supreme Court. In this regard, a statement from the Chief Minister's Office said that the Cabinet has approved the recruitment process to begin after September 9, 2020.
The statement said that the proposal of the Cooperation Department to allow farmers whose names are not in the voter list to contest in the Agricultural Produce Market Committee elections was approved in the meeting.
The Cabinet approved a proposal to raise Rs 35,629 crore through loans to fund road development projects in the state will help speed up land acquisition for such projects.

Gandhi Mandela Award 2022
The
14th Dalai Lama was conferred with the Gandhi Mandela Award 2022 by Himachal
Pradesh Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at Thekchen Choling in McLeodganj,
Dharamsala. The Tibetan spiritual leader is receiving the Peace Prize from the
New Delhi-based Gandhi Mandela Foundation. Former Chief Justice of India
Justice KG Balakrishnan and former Supreme Court Justice Gyan Sudha Mishra
participated in this program.
This
time the awardee was selected by a jury comprising former Chief Justice of
India KG Balakrishnan and Justice Dipak Misra, former Supreme Court Justice
Gyan Sudha Misra, former CJ of Nepal Justice Kedarnath Upadhyay & former CJ
of Bangladesh Justice.
The
award is presented to individuals who have carried forward the legacy of Gandhi
and Mandela by making significant contributions in the fields of peace, social
welfare, culture, environment, education, health, sports and innovation.
The
Gandhi Mandela Foundation is a non-profit organization registered by the
Government of India. It was formed with the intention of promoting the
non-violence values of Mahatma Gandhi and former South African President
Nelson Mandela. It is an international prize. Instituted Gandhi Mandela Award
The Foundation instituted the award on the occasion of the 150th birth
anniversary of Father of the Nation MK Gandhi.
Tibetan
spiritual leader and 1989 Nobel Peace Prize acclaimed.. The Nobel website
states that the Dalai Lama developed his philosophy of peace on a concept of
great respect for all living things and a universal responsibility to embrace
mankind and nature. He also received many other awards.

22nd FIFA World Cup 2022
The
22nd FIFA Men's World Cup was officially launched on 20 November in a colorful
ceremony at the Al Bait Stadium in Al Khor, Qatar. This is the first time an
Arab country is hosting a football tournament. 32 teams will play for the most
coveted prize in international football, with the final match to be played at
the Lucille Stadium on December 18. It is the largest of the eight stadiums
used to host the World Cup. December 18, 2022 Qatar National Day opening game
will be between Qatar and Ecuador at Al Bait Stadium in Al Khor.
The
22nd FIFA Men's World Cup 2022 will be held in Qatar from November 20 to
December 18. This is the first time that an Arab country is hosting this
tournament. This is the second World Cup to be held in Asia after the 2002
World Cup which was jointly hosted by Japan and South Korea. 32 teams
participate in the World Cup. The official emblem of the Laeeb Cup is inspired
by the keffiyeh, a traditional headdress worn by Arab men.
The
football name used in the World Cup is Al Rihla. Al Rihla means journey in
Arabic. It is manufactured by the German multinational company Adidas. It will
be the 14th consecutive time that a ball made by Adidas will be used at the
FIFA World Cup.Al-Rihla is the first FIFA World Cup ball made exclusively with
water-based inks and glues.
