1. Indian
Prime Minister Narendra Modi released wild cheetahs in Kuno National Park and
launched the world's first cheetah rehabilitation project. Cheetahs brought
from Namibia are being introduced in India under Project Cheetah as part of the
world's first inter-continental large wild carnivore translocation project. The
release of the wild cheetahs by the Prime Minister is part of his efforts to
revitalize and diversify India's wildlife and habitats.
Out
of total eight cheetahs there are five female and three male cheetahs. PM Modi
released the cheetahs at two release points in Kuno National Park. On this
occasion, he spoke to cheetah friends, cheetah rehabilitation management team
and students at the venue.
2.Andaman
and Nicobar Islands became the first Indian state/UT to achieve 100 per cent
coverage of precautionary doses. 2,87,216 beneficiaries aged 18 years were
vaccinated with precautionary dose. After July 15, the vaccination rate
increased after the government decided to provide free preventive doses during
the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'.
3. Manipur
Chief Minister N. to collect complaints and concerns from common people. Biren
Singh started the web facility in Imphal. The name of the web portal is called
“CM Da Haisi”. It means “informing the CM”. People can also air their
grievances by visiting www.cmdahaisi.mn.gov.in. Complainants can also check the
status of complaints.
4. India
has overtaken China as Sri Lanka's largest bilateral lender for the last five
years from 2017-2021. India is now the largest bilateral creditor to Sri Lanka.
India has provided loans to Sri Lanka totaling 968 million US dollars.
The
largest bilateral lender in the last five years is the Asian Development Bank
(ADB). A total of $610 million has been provided to Sri Lanka by the Asian
Development Bank (ADB) in 2021.
India
has provided $4 billion in food and financial aid to Sri Lanka. In August 2022,
it handed over 21,000 tonnes of fertilizers to Sri Lanka.
Since
the beginning of 2022, Sri Lanka is suffering from financial crisis. This
crisis has affected a large number of people in the country. The country is
struggling with foreign debt, severe food and fuel shortages.
5. Saffron
GI-tagged: GI labeling of Kashmiri saffron has enabled farmers in the Union
Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to sell their produce in domestic and
international markets. Chaudhary Mohammad Iqbal, Director of Agriculture,
Kashmir, who visited India International Saffron today from the Kashmir Trade
Center in Dussu, Pampore neighborhood of south Kashmir's Pulwama district, to
see how it is doing there.
