This day is recognized around the world to
promote, create awareness about how precious lives can be saved and the
importance of first aid. The day was first introduced by the IFRC.
Significance
Every
year World First Aid Day is observed to raise awareness and recognize the value
of first aid as an act of humanitarian empowerment. This is a great opportunity
to make first aid education accessible to the public and improve public
awareness of first aid. This year's World First Aid Day program will be
coordinated by the Global First Aid Reference Centre,
History
of World First Aid Day:
Horrified
by the massacre of the people of Geneva at the Battle of Solferino in 1859,
young businessman Henri Dunant helped many of the seriously wounded. Inspired
by this incident, Henri Dunant wrote a book titled 'A Memory of Solferino'. He
narrates his experiences in this book. He co-founded the International
Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to provide immediate first aid to prevent
casualties. The IFRC officially declared the second Saturday of September as
World First Aid Day in the year 2000
3.SETU
(Supporting Entrepreneurs in Transition and Upskilling) program in the US
Commerce
and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal launched a program called SETU to connect
Indian entrepreneurs with US-based investors.
The
main points of the conference were how to promote indigenous enterprises and
successful diaspora residents under the guidance of early stage Indian
enterprises in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The
project connects businesses in India to investors and startup ecosystem leaders
in the US to provide guidance and support in a number of areas including
funding, market access and commercialization.
An
all-in-one resource for Indian businesses, the interaction between stakeholders
is facilitated by the Startup India Initiative's MAARG (Mentorship, Advisory,
Assistance, Resilience and Growth) programme.
According to estimates, more than 90% of startups and more than half of well-funded businesses fail in their early stages.Lack of company management experience is a major problem.
