Liz
Truss was born on July 26,
1975. She is a British
politician. Now the leader of the Conservative Party. She will become the Prime
Minister of UK on September 6,
2022.
From
2021 she is Minister for
Women and Equalities and Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and
Development Affairs.
Liz
Truss has served as a member of the Conservative Party and MP for South West
Norfolk since 2010.
She
held several cabinet posts under Prime Ministers Theresa May, Boris Johnson and
David Cameron.
2.Rename
of Raj Path and Central Vista Lawn to Kartavya maarg:
The
Government of India has announced that Raj Path and Central Vista Lawn will be
renamed as Kartavya maarg. This decision was said to remove the vestiges of
British colonialism in India. The decision was taken after a special meeting
convened on September 7,
aimed at renaming Raj Path and Central Vista Lawn. Earlier, the Modi government
changed the name of the road where the Prime Minister resides from Race Course
Road to Lok Kalyan Marg.
The
Kartavya maarg includes the entire avenue and area from the Netaji statue to
the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The route runs from Rashtrapati Bhavan in Raisina Hill
to the National Stadium in Delhi via Vijaya Chowk and India Gate. The decision
was taken after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address to the nation on
Independence Day emphasized points that would lead to the abolition of symbols
and symbols associated with the colonial mentality.
After
completion of construction work on both sides of Rajpath, Central Vista Avenue
is ready for inauguration.
The
Central Vista redevelopment project includes a new triangular Parliament
Building, a joint Central Secretariat, a three-kilometre Rajpath, a new Prime
Minister's residence and revitalization of offices and a new Vice President's
enclave.
The
central Vista Avenue Rajpath has state-wise food stalls, red granite walkways
surrounded by greenery, vending zones, parking lots and 24-hour security, but one thing people miss is Maan
Singh from India Gate.
3. BEL (Bharat Electronics Limited) signs
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to manufacture scanning systems with Smith's
Detection:
Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has signed a
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Smiths Detection, a global leader in
threat detection and security inspection technologies, to supply advanced, high
power scanning systems to the Indian market. The MOU has been signed for a
period of five years and is subject to further extension by mutual agreement.
Contract Details:
BEL handles front-end requirements in the market
and supports localization of projects. But Smith's Detection provides advanced
screening technology and technical expertise for the project.
Also, to facilitate business and enhance
security, the central government is investing in port and land border security.
Moreover the need for industry leading high energy scanning technology is being driven by defense installations. This, according to the company, requires testing large volumes of vehicles and imposing limited access to sensitive areas.
4. Indian
Army Chief Manoj Pandey was awarded honorary status by Nepal Army General:
Indian
Army Chief General Manoj Pandey was conferred the title of Honorary General of
the Nepali Army by Nepal President Bidya Devi Bhandari in Kathmandu. General
Pandey was felicitated at a special function held at ``Sheetal Niwas'', the
official residence of the President in Nepal's capital city. He also presented
a sword and a scroll during the function.

ceremony follows a seven-decade-old tradition of conferring honorary titles on
army chiefs of each other's countries. Commander-in-Chief General KM Cariappa
was the first Indian Army Chief to be decorated with this title in 1950. In November last year, Nepali Army Chief
General Prabhu Ram Sharma was also made an honorary general of the Indian Army
by President Ram Nath Kovind at a function in New Delhi.
